This was an original idea – a 100 best Pins from Pinterest in one post. Wow! I was optimistic but had to realise that getting in contact with so many busy people out there will take weeks if not months. So to avoid being sucked onto the quagmire of a copyright bog, I’ve rewritten the article that now has my own images and links to my Pinterest boards. Still, lots of inspiration to find here. Enjoy!
Caught in the whirlwind of racing time?
Taking life for granted?
Forgetting to appreciate what you have?
To thank people, God or Universe?
It happens to me too.
January is not my favourite month. Long and gloomy, it’s stretching my positivity muscle to the bursting point. A real drab.
These days I need more than a smile to start my day on a positive note.
But what?
The Five Minute Journal
“Try it”, suggested a friend. “It works for me.”
So I grabbed my iPad and placed an order.
“Five minutes, really?”, I thought reading an intro two days later.
How on earth do I find things to be grateful for every morning? Day after day? How do I recognise blessings from the eye of the storm?
I struggled.
Help came with a new article from Henneke Duistermaat, and I dived into Pinterest.
What I found there have been inspiring me since.
Not only to live by but also to create my own images.
Let me share with you what I learned.
What is Gratitude?
Gratitude is a pure positive energy of a human soul saturating the Universe with vibrations of kindness.
Gratitude sprinkles joy into human relationships.
See what other say about nature of gratitude here.
Why is Gratitude Good for You?
Since I started practising gratitude, I’ve learned to be more present and observant. I found more space for kindness, love and joy in my heart.
How to Practice Gratitude?
1. Make a decision to turn a gratitude switch in your Soul on.
2. Jump into a Cauldron of Gratitude other people filled out for you. Get a feeling.
3. Start counting your own blessings.

How to Find Gratitude When Life Sucks?
That’s a tough one.
When gloomy clouds huddle over your head threatening to explode with a thunderstorm, how do you find something to be grateful for?
In hardship, be thankful for what you have. Because you have plenty.
Things to Be Grateful for
They are around you. Big as your life itself and tiny as snowdrops outside your kitchen window.

This morning I welcomed another grey Scandinavian day with a genuine smile and this quote from the journal:
PS Sorry for meeting you so late. 😊
(I’m not an early bird.)
Open your heart to gratitude.
And it will reside there.
Thank you, Thuy Pham, for The Five Minute Journal.
