Happiness isn’t for you. At least, not before you’re healed… right? [Read more…]

5 Salient Steps to Cope With Your Difficult Mother

By Irina Leave a Comment

Tell me something.

How often do you look forward to seeing your mum only to be stroked with the iron splints of her criticism?

Sigh.

“What took you so long? Now I’m late,” she greets you at the door.

You sprint into the kitchen to fill her fridge with homemade goodies you’ve spent hours conjuring up. She waits impatiently in the doorway, her eyes glued to your back.

“Leave it, would you? I must go.”

You swallow the humble pie and help your mother into the car. [Read more…]

Confident womanMarge lies sleepless in her bed.

How on Earth can she squeeze mum’s birthday party into her already heavy schedule?

Starring wearily into the darkness, she struggles to solve a futile time puzzle.

Marge wants to help everyone.

Take care of the neighbour’s cats while she’s on vacation?–“Ok, no problem.”

Clean up mum’s refrigerator today?–“Sure, mum. On my way.”

Deal with partner’s tax problems?–“I’m on.”

How to find serenityYou are busy.

*Sigh*

Rushing through your life like a train without brakes – stations flow by, unidentified and instantly forgotten.

You work long hours to keep your business running. You snatch fleeting moments for your partner, children, parents, and friends. How precious they are.
